    「新中国国際展覧センター」からホテルまでは、タクシーでわずか10分の距離でした。ガラスのドアを開けた瞬間、温かみのある自然な木の香りに迎えられ、長い一日の疲れが一気に癒やされました。チェックインもスムーズで、提案書の修正作業で夜更かしが続いていたことを伝えると、フロントスタッフが気を利かせて、高層階の静かな部屋へアップグレードしてくれました。「加湿器をあらかじめつけておきました。北京は乾燥しますので、寝る前に白湯を一杯飲んでくださいね」といった心遣いも、ごく自然で誠実なものに感じられました。
    客室のドアを開けた瞬間、その空間にすっかり魅了されました。余計な装飾を排し、オールシーズンズの特徴であるミニマルなレイアウトが見事に活かされていました。40平方メートルの客室は明るく広々としており、高密度のコットン製寝具は柔らかさと適度な支えを兼ね備えていました。3晩続けて深夜に部屋へ戻りましたが、ベッドに入ると数分で深い眠りに落ちることができ、慣れないホテルでありがちな不眠に悩まされることもありませんでした。窓際のデスクはプロジェクトの資料を2セット広げられるほどの広さがあり、安定したギガビットWi-Fiのおかげで、遅延なく2時間のオンライン会議を行うことができました。充電用コンセントも手元に配置されていたため、ケーブルを手にデスクの下を這いずり回って差込口を探すような手間もありませんでした。
